During his youth in Massachusetts, Andrew Lederman had the opportunity to be educated in an distinctive environment, the Waldorf System; an international group of schools where the students are given the opportunity to experience an education that regularly includes encounters with nature such as; the planting and growing of crops; and spiritual teachings, and moments that included various forms of meditation. The students were also taught old-fashioned homely arts and crafts such as carving wooden spoons, or knitting sweaters.
Andrew Lederman graduated from New York University in 2013 with a degree in Jazz piano performance. He has performed around the world as a cruise ship pianist including tours in the Mediterranean, South America, and Antarctica. He has performed solo at music festivals in Florence, Italy, and at jazz clubs in Tokyo, Japan. In 2015 Andrew became music director for a gospel Christmas musical at the world famous Apollo Theater in New York. Andrew has worked as a ragtime pianist and actor at Universal Studios, Hollywood, and as associate conductor for a new musical by Gospel legend Bebe Winans at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica.
Andrew has worked as a session musician and accompanist for the Disney Company, including work on the trailer for the live action Tim Burton Dumbo movie, and as audition accompanist for Disney's Frozen on Broadway. Andrew writes and produces his own original music, and plays in multiple bands around town including Vaud and The Villains, and recording artist Scott Howard.
